Julianna H.
Education: Stanford
Study Zone: From an early age, Julianna has been drawn to Math and Physics, and her ballet career seemed like a completely distinct aspect of her identity. However, deeply intrigued to explore the relationship between these two disciplines further, she seeks cross-curricular parallels between her math problem sets and daily ballet classes. She loves cultivating the harmonious fusion of her academic pursuits and artistic endeavors, and she continues to be awestruck by the mathematical and scientific discoveries she unearths in every plié, tendu, and jeté.
Superpower: Although Julianna is a teacher at heart (her first word was “book”) she also recognizes the value of maintaining her inner student. Eager to expand the bounds of her comfort zone, she constantly learns from her students, and captivates them with her unwavering curiosity and enthusiastic love for learning. Mentoring others with passion and kindness, Julianna brings her infectious joy for educating others to every tutoring session.
Teaching Favorites: Julianna is most proud of her entrepreneurial spirit. At 10 years old, Julianna launched her own sewing business. She now designs, sews, and sells custom professional ballet tutus and dancewear for performers across the country. Recently, she made two costumes for professional dancers in a gala performance – in only 48 hours! She feels immense pride every time she sees her handmade creations being worn by other dancers; she knows her intentionally crafted garments and attention to comfort and detail means dancers will look – and, more importantly, feel – prepared and confident onstage.
